Mom Back To Me…

Finding yourself again after being a mom

  • Oh man. The one thing I found after having my son was that I had to have hobbies of my own to stay sane! I tried a few, permanent Jewelry (liked it but was based on other peoples time), going to the gym (wasn’t my favorite and the gym was EXPENSIVE!!), and running (I love running but its become increasingly harder to do with my son).

Ultimately I landed on reading, LEGO building, and I guess this :). LEGO building is by far my favorite but again, is expensive, and I do like to be intentional with the sets I purchase to be only ones I could use as decoration around my home, which in the LEGO world is few and far between :). Reading is kind of the same way. I do much better reading an actual book than my kindle, but again, I do like to be intentional about what I read rather than picking up the most recent book-tok book. Writing has never been anything to me but I guess as someone with only few friends this is a great way to get my thoughts and life experiences out there.

I think hobbies have for sure saved me and my marriage, as they clear my head more than I ever could before, and as an over thinker, that is huge for me! I hope every mom can find her hobbies!!

I do want to mention that this page will probably transition to be about my hobbies and what I am reading but I still think that it aligns to the “mom back to me” theme, as hobbies are for ourselves and not for anyone else ๐Ÿ™‚

    with love, kindness, and happiness,

  • Welcome to my blog…. I have never done this before but I just felt I needed a place to get my thoughts out about what I have been struggling with as a mom who is struggling to find her passions in life again and to be happy with where she is at. Before I became a mom I was super active, playing soccer and golf and running and having tons of fun with my husband and friends. I had hobbies outside of my husband that were just mine and had plenty of spare time to enjoy those hobbies. Then motherhood hit me. Don’t get me wrong I love being a mom, it brings me to tears with happiness everyday seeing my son grow and do new things, but I also feel like I have lost the spark in myself and I can feel it affecting ever corner of my life, including motherhood. I guess I want to start this blog to write about things I’m trying or things I’ve tried to help me find MY spark in life back.

I don’t wish to inspire other moms or anything like that but if this blog speaks to moms that feel like they are in similar shoes as me I would love that. No one wants to feel like they are the only one going through something and although I do wish in this case I am the only one, it would be nice to hear from other moms who have had similar experiences.
